Free incoming calls is a revolutionary concept for international
roaming, as traditionally you always pay for the international leg
of your incoming calls when abroad. It is this "hidden" cost which usually
inflates your phone bill - after all, you have little control over who
calls you. Simply record a message on your UK mobile answerphone giving
out your Riiing Mobile number for callers to use. They then foot the bill
to call your European based Riiing number, not you! Calls to Riiing mobile
numbers from a BT landline cost 18p per minute, which is only a little
bit higher than the cost of ringing a UK mobile number.
On Riiing outgoing calls are always chargeable, and whilst you
do pay a connection fee per call of 19p the per minute charge is usually
less than half that charged by UK networks!

Mobile to Mobile calls with Riiing:
In the situation where you are on holiday or business overseas with your UK phone and you call a friend or business colleague who is with you and also using their UK phone you pay to call back to the UK and they pay to receive that call. This makes it doubly expensive! For example, if two O2 subscribers are roaming in Australia and call each other one will pay 85p per minute and the other 130p per minute to receive.
- This works out at an amazing £2.15 per minute!
- But, when calling Riiing to Riiing in Australia there is only a charge of 29p per minute for the outgoing call, and the incoming call is free!
- Which makes UK charges 641% more expensive in this example!
Topping up:
Adding credit to your balance is easy and can be done online or over
